What makes voting in California unique? In California, you can register to vote as a No Party Preference voter and request a Democratic ballot to vote for Bernie in the Primary. If you are a registered Democrat, you don’t need to request a Democratic Party ballot to vote for Bernie — you will receive one automatically.
