Yousef Rabhi serves in the Michigan House of Representatives where he has led the charge for the state’s universal health care bill and renewable energy plan. He previously worked for social change as an activist in peace, labor, and environmental movements. Right now he is facing a primary challenger, and it is up to us to help him continue leading our movement in Michigan.
Ilhan Omar and I have worked on a number of important issues in Congress, including canceling student debt, providing school meals year-round to students, and protecting workers' rights. She is a courageous leader who is leading our movement in the House.
Cori Bush is a nurse and community activist running for the U.S. House in Missouri's 1st District. She emerged as a leader while working on the frontlines of the Ferguson movement as a protester, clergy member, medic, and victim of police assault. Now she is continuing the bold fight for justice because she knows what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck and be burdened with student and medical debt. Cori is someone we can count on to stand with working people and provide true representation for our movement in Congress
Kim Gardner is the current St. Louis City Attorney where she reduced the average daily jail population by 39 percent without increasing the crime rate in St. Louis. Kim has increased police accountability by prosecuting officers who break the law and refusing to rely on the testimony of officers accused of misconduct. She was among the first prosecutors nationwide to publish the department’s “exclusion list” of untrustworthy police officers whose cases would not be brought without strong evidence untainted by their involvement.
Megan Green is running for the Missouri State Senate and currently serves as alderwoman in St. Louis. As a progressive leader in Missouri, she has fought for a higher minimum wage, reproductive rights for women, and marijuana legalization. If elected to the State Senate, she will fight for Medicare for All, college for all, and a Green New Deal.
Kara Eastman came within two points of defeating the Republican incumbent in her district in 2018. Now she is running against him again on a strong progressive platform. She has a very good chance to win in November, but this could be another close race and Kara will need our grassroots support behind her. If we can send her to Congress, she'll fight for the issues at the center of our movement.
